We have had a lovely week in Lime Tree Class, taking part in the schools drop everything and read (DEAR) story activities.
We have enjoyed a mix of picture books, our class Roald Dahl text and some stories told from memory.
On Wednesday we had Ursula the story teller in for some superb, engaging story time which included some singing and acting.
We have also started to look at instructions this week. We have talked about all the features needed in an instructional piece of writing, and this has been set as homework for both year groups this week.

Another very productive week in school comes to an end.
Pupils have worked hard on their diary writing. All pupils have done well to write their diaries pretending to be CInderella when she was granted her wish to go to the ball. We have had some excellent imaginative writing and great discussions about what she may have felt like, seen and what she did.
Our Science work has lead to some super discussions and findings as we started to look at hours of daylight, sunrise and sunset around the world. We used torches as the sun and our globe to see where it would be night time and daytime around the world.

Another week has flown by and I would just like to say well done to all pupils in Lime Tree Class for their efforts this week.
We have had a very productive week with our Maths, finishing off our multiplication unit and moving onto division. Year 1 have been working with practical resources to share into equal groups whilst Year 2 have been using more formal ways of working out,
In English we have looked at the process of writing invitations and the features of these types of text. The pupils have all written their own version of an invitation to the ball in the CInderella story.
