I can't believe it is that time of the week again!
These weeks are seeming shorter and shorter! This week we have worked hard on our recount writing about our class text 'Lila and the secret of rain'. We have been pretending to be the main character Lila, telling the story in the first person with extra detail. Next week we will be writing our own version of the story with a twist!
We have chosen sports day events for each child this week and have started to practise them in our PE lessons. We are excited for this important event to be back on the calendar after all this time and look forward to welcoming you all to school next Wednesday!

Lime Tree Class have had a very busy this week, with us splitting into our individual year groups for 2 school trips to Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
It was great to see pupils enjoy the animals that we have been learning about in our Africa topic at the park and they thoroughly enjoyed their trip out. Over the course of the 2 days we saw Lions, Rhinos, Giraffes, Leopards and some Elands along with some other animals not found in Africa.

What a week!
This week we have picked straight up where we left off at the end of last half term. We have continued our Africa topic and even introduced our new book 'Lila and the secret of Rain'.
On Thursday, our Year 2 pupils attended the first skipping event of the year run by 'The Skipping School' at Armley Leisure Centre. The pupils represented our school amazingly and came out with lots of Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. We came home with the overall win but most importantly we had a great time competing and worked extremely hard!
