A very busy first week back!

The highlight of the week has to be the fantastic effort made by you all on Thursday for World Book Day. It was so nice to spend a day discussing and sharing our favourite books.

We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who kindly donated books for the book swap and to the PTA for organising this.

All children received a World Book Day token yesterday too which can be redeemed in certain shops for a FREE book. There are 12 completely free books to choose from this year or alternatively the children can redeem their voucher against a full price book to knock £1 off the cost.

The nearest places to redeem the vouchers this year are:

Sainsbury's

2.6 miles from LS19 7QR.
760 Harrogate Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD10 0QF

The Bookshop on the Square

Vouchers can also be redeemed in any large Sainsbury's (not local stores), large Tesco (not express stores), Waterstones or WHSmith.

There are several other independent bookshops in Ilkley/Harrogate where you can redeem tokens too. You can use the search function here to find alternative participating retailers from further afield.

Have a great weekend and enjoy reading your new books!

What a busy 7 weeks it has been!

We have enjoyed finishing off our Cinderella topic this week with some instructional writing, a blurb and then an end of half term treat watching the 2015 Cinderella film.

On Thursday our Y2 children were involved in a skipping workshop in preparation for the Skipping competition we enter every year in the Summer term. We will be continuing with skipping as one of our PE units next half term so there will be plenty of time to practise!

I hope everyone has a great break.

Take care

Mr Spence

Another busy week comes to a close with lots of work from our pupils in Lime Tree.

We have continued with instruction writing this week, writing instructions for the fairy godmother on how to get Cinderella to the ball.

In Maths we have had some more practical based lessons, as we started out length and height measurement unit. It has been great to see so much prior knowledge retained on this subject and we have had some excellent conversations about this in class.

It was so nice to be able to meet so many of you parents at the face-to-face parents' evenings this week and it was great to be able to discuss pupil progress and areas for development going forward.

One more busy week to go!

Enjoy the weekend all.

Mr Spence
