We have had a great week in Lime Tree Class.
We have worked hard on our instruction writing linked to our baking of South African Crunchie snacks last week. We have written some excellent instructions for making them and then spent some time on Thursday and Friday using our fantastic drama skills to host a cooking show! The pupils really enjoyed getting in character and teaching the other children how to make these treats, acting out their instructions with props as they read them.
Our Year 2 pupils were lucky enough to attend the final rehearsal of 'Emil and the Detectives' at Yeadon Town Hall on Thursday afternoon. It was fantastic to be able to walk to the Town Hall and watch this on the big stage!
With one more busy week to go, please see a couple of reminders below -
Monday - Bookbags, reading records and reading books due in (see slip in bookbags)
Wednesday - School Disco - Children can come to school in party clothes (No PE on this day)
The weather is forecast to be extremely warm on Monday and Tuesday. We will be taking measures to keep children safe and comfortable in school however it is important that pupils wear appropriate clothing (detailed in the newsletter) and bring a full water bottle to school. Sun cream should also be applied before school.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone and take care in the warm weather!

A great week by all this week with the particular highlight being the return of Sports Day!
It was great to have this important event back on the calendar and we have missed it dearly for the last two years. I hope everyone that attended the event enjoyed the day. It was great to see so much determination, effort and competition from all pupils across school.
Have a great weekend everyone!

We can't believe it is July already!
Another busy week comes to an end and we have just three more to go!
Unfortunately we had to cancel sports day on Wednesday, however this has meant we have been able to practise our events in PE time this week and get used to what we are doing. We are excited for the rearranged Sports Day next week and hope you can all join us!
Just a reminder that the homework for this half term is a project to do with our 'Africa' topic. The deadline for these to be in is Wednesday 13th July. They can start to bring them in from Monday 11th July (please do not send them in before this date). More information will follow about when we will be displaying them for you to view.
Have a lovely weekend and let's hope for some more sun!
