Weekly Update 25.03.22

Mr Spence (t.spence) on: Lime Tree Class Blog 2021-2022

We can't believe there is only one more week to go of what feels like a very busy half term!

Our pupils have worked exceptionally hard this week and they have applied themselves very well.

We have started to look at our new class story for the next couple of weeks which is a well known favourite 'STICK MAN'.

We have read and sequenced the story this week to ensure we understand his journey before moving on with writing different versions in the coming weeks.

In Maths we have continued with a mixture of fractions work and arithmetic.

Have a great weekend everyone

Mr Spence

Another week comes to an end and pupils in Lime Tree certainly deserve a break this weekend having worked so hard in their lessons this week,

We have been writing thank you letters to The Smartest Giant in Town from the Fox in the story. The children have really enjoyed writing the letters and thinking of ways to thank George. This work will be extended into homework for this week where they can write another letter from a different animal.

Our maths has continued with fractions including 1/2 1/4 1/3 and 3/4 this week. We have looked at finding fractions of shapes, objects and quantities.

Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the change in the weather!

We have had a rather busy week in Lime Tree Class this week!

On Tuesday afternoon our pupils enjoyed a lovely story telling session with Catherine in the community room where we role played the story of Cinderella. It was great to see how much of the detail the pupils had retained of the story from last half term.

We have carried on our work with 'The Smartest Giant in Town' this week, writing as one of the characters that George helps on his journey. We have had some exceptional pieces of writing from pupils in both Year 1 and 2. It is great to see some of the skills taught in SPAG lessons being used in their independent writing.

Have a great weekend everyone and see you all on Tuesday!

Mr Spence
