Another extremely busy week in Lime Tree Class comes to and end!

We have continued with poem writing this week, using our book 'If you're not from the prairie'. This has lead to some excellent 'If you're not from Yeadon' poetry writing. We enjoyed writing these poems and then moving around our classroom to look at each others (photo below). It was great to see pupils in Lime Tree giving each other so many lovely compliments on their work.

We have also been looking at grouping and sorting animals relating to what they have in common and what their differences are. Pupils were able to show their learning from last week where they classified animals into Amphibians, Reptiles, Mammals, Fish and Birds. We could then look at what these groups had in common and what made them different.

As parents will have received by text message, our PE days have changed to Wednesday and Friday (previously Monday and Friday). This will continue to the end of the year.

It was great to be back after the Easter holiday and see all the pupils in Lime Tree Class come back with such big smiles on their faces!

This half term we will be continuing our Yeadon topic for the first two weeks to ensure we have completed our learning on this area. This week we have been looking at the old schools that stood on the same site as Rufford Park. We have enjoyed looking at pictures of the old school and seeing the differences in them.

We have started with our new writing focus which is poetry. This week we have been writing our own list poems about Yeadon Tarn. the pupils have enjoyed being creative and writing poems about things they have seen,

Have a great weekend everyone!

A great final week in school before the Easter break.

We still have some learning to do with our current topic and will continue this for another 2 weeks after the break to allow us to finish the learning we have planned. Year 2 pupils managed to get out for a walk to Yeadon Tarn, taking note of the human and physical features we had talked about on the way. Although it was a little wet, we had a great time out in the local community looking at the things we had been learning about all half term. Unfortunately, Year 1 have not yet been on their walk but this will be rearranged for the first week back, hopefully without any snow!

On Thursday afternoon we had the Easter egg scramble and met the Easter Bunny! Have a great break everyone!
