Hello Cherry Tree Class,

Well, we have reached the end of the half term. Next week you can all enjoy a break from schoolwork and have a rest. You have all worked so hard and I am so proud of you all.

This week I have had some amazing work sent to me.  I have really enjoyed looking at your comic strips and fruit and vegetable superheroes. You have worked so hard on them and looked like you have had lots of fun too!

Thank you, grown-ups too for all your hard work and support with home learning.  It really is appreciated. I am sure that you are also ready for a break!

Your work for after the holidays will be on the blog and teams from Sunday 21st February ready for Monday morning.  If you collect a paper pack these will be ready on the Monday morning for collection.

Have a great holiday!

Mrs Moore

Hello Cherry Tree Class.

I hope you have all had a good week and managed to enjoy the snow on Tuesday.  There may be more snow next week!

It has been good to see you all this week in our small group sessions.  It is lovely to see you all and find out what you have all been up to.  Remember all the sessions are on a Tuesday afternoon. Please check your times and be on time.

I have had lots of amazing work sent back to me this week.  I am so proud of how hard you are working.

Next week we will be finishing our Superhero topic with some fun English all based on the story Supertato.  I hope you enjoy the story and the work that has been planned for you.

Have a great weekend!

Hello Cherry Tree Class.

Well done to all of you for your fantastic home learning this week.  I have had lots of work returned to me and have been really impressed with the quality of your work.

Once again, it has been really good to see you all this week in our small group sessions.  You are all becoming quite skilled at muting and unmuting yourselves.  The times and some groups for these meetings will be changing next week so please check teams.  They will all be on a Tuesday afternoon.

Remember to keep reading.  You can access some online books from:

Remember the timetable and folder of work is also on teams under the file section.

Mental Health - This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. Of course, learning is important but so is our own Mental Health. Here is also a link for activities to help keep children happy and healthy during lockdown. Please take a look and choose any that you would like to try. If you like the Elmer theme perhaps you and your child could spend some time together making your very own Elmer using an old milk carton.

Finally, please feel free to show this song It’s OK if you’re not feeling OK to your children. It really is OK if we are not perfect! Be well everyone!

Have a great weekend!

Hello Cherry Tree Class.

It has been lovely to see you this week in our Small Teams Meetings. I could tell by talking to you how hard you have been working on your home learning.

Please remember to look at the timetable for next week’s learning and try, as best you can, to stick to it. The timetable and zip folder of resources are also on teams under the file section.  The timetable will tell you which pieces of work are on teams.  If you cannot access teams please remember to email finished work to our class email regularly throughout the week (especially your maths and English) so I can see what you have been doing and send you some feedback.

Remember to keep reading.  You can access some online books from Oxford Owl select your book band colour and make a choice from there.  Our class login and password are cherrytreeclass     year2.

Make sure you attend next week’s Teams Meetings.  The day and time will be the same as this week. Please read the school expectations for these sessions and make sure you are ready to join in following the expectations listed.

Rufford Park expectations of children during live sessions

We expect children to behave as they would in any normal lesson in school. We ask that children be in a shared space in the house, rather than in their bedroom. Children should remain on ‘mute’ unless instructed otherwise. We may ask children to turn their cameras off or we may turn their cameras off for them.

Children are expected to:

  • Sit sensibly (no eating or moving around)
  • Raise a hand to speak (no calling out)
  • Listen carefully and not distract classmates or use the chat functions
  • Wear suitable clothing (home clothes are fine... but please, no pyjamas!).

It is important that you all follow these expectations so that we can all enjoy the live sessions.

Hello Cherry Tree Class.

I hope you have all had a good week and have enjoyed doing your Home Learning.  It has been lovely to see that so many of you have completed assignments on Teams.  If you have not had a chance to do so have a look and see if you can do some next week.

I have also had lots of work sent to me by email or returned when printed packs have been collected.  It is good to see that you are all working hard.  It is so important that you keep to a routine and do some schoolwork each day.

Remember to keep reading.  Your grown-ups should have all received an email about online reading resources available from Oxford Owls.  If they have not, then Click the link select your book band colour and make a choice from there.  Our class login and password are cherrytreeclass     year2.

Click on the links below for your timetable and home learning resources. These are also on Teams for you to access, just look in the files section.

Thank you to all of you who joined our Teams Story Session and chat this afternoon.  It was so lovely to see you all and you were amazing with the technology. Next week I will start some small group Teams sessions so remember to look out for your invite. I am hoping to get to talk to all of you next week.

Enjoy the snow!

Work hard and stay safe!
