Well we have reached the end of another term  The time is flying by too quickly!

The children have continued to use the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood' to inspire their writing.  They have been writing descriptions of the main characters.

In maths we have continued our work on money.  The children have been using coins to make £1 and solving a range of reasoning problems involving money.

In PSHE we have also been thinking about money.  We have been talking about how to look after money and why we need it.

Today the children got a chance to take part in the 'Egg Scramble'.  They all had a great time.  I am sure they will enjoy eating their eggs over the holidays.

Well done to all the children who took part in the Book Fair Design Competition.  Cherry Tree Class had both the first and second prize winners for KS1.  A  special 'Congratulations' to Florence and Labiba.

All that's left to say is have a great Easter Holiday!

On Wednesday the children had an extra PE coaching session. They enjoyed a dance session on the Muga.  I was impressed with their moves! They all had a great time.

In English we have been reading the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood'.  We have been making comparisons with the story of 'The Three Little Pigs'. The children have been writing thought and feelings bubble from different character view points.

In maths we have been learning about money.  We have been using coins to make given amounts and ordering coins depending on their value. Any work at home to help with their understanding of money would be really appreciated.

This week we have taken ownership of 'Aslan' again.  Well done to all those children who have been reading at least 3 times a week at home.

The highlight of the week was definitely getting to watch the Dress Rehearsal of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat'.  The cast were all amazing and we all really enjoyed it.  Well done to all of the children who performed.

Next week is the last week before the Easter Holidays.  I can't believe how fast the year is going.

Have a wonderful weekend.

It's been another very busy week!  The children have all worked incredible hard and packed lots in.

We have continued our work, in maths, on Fractions.  The children have been solving problems involving finding halves, quarters and thirds of numbers, shapes and objects.  We have also been looking at simple equivalent fractions.

In English we have been writing a diary entry as one of the Little Pigs. The children did a great job and some shared their entries with the rest of the class.

We are doing lots of work in Guided Reading on our retrieval, prediction and simple inference skills. When reading with your child at home please remember to ask lots of questions about books read.

Enjoy your weekend.
