This week, we have been continuing with our creative writing and using a range of vocabulary and sentence starters to write a character description. Everyone has been really engaged in the activity and this has resulted in some super pieces of work.
In maths, we have been consolidating our knowledge on simplifying and identifying equivalent fractions and moving onto converting improper fractions into mixed numbers and mixed numbers into improper fractions.
An exciting addition to the week was the opportunity to participate (virtually) in the Otley Science Festival. We watched Marty Jopson's live 'Zap' Science workshop. He took us on a sparky journey through the story of electricity; from the Ancient Greeks through to Faraday. We really enjoyed the demonstrations and watching the sparks fly.

Welcome to our class blog. This will be updated weekly to let you know what we have been doing in class.
This week in English we have enjoyed watching a short film clip called 'The Piano' before beginning to work on our descriptive writing skills.
In maths we have been using are times tables knowledge to identify equivalent fractions and convert them into their simplest form. Having a secure times tables knowledge will really help with this so keep practising.
