A final farewell to Maple Tree Class!
It has been a busy and challenging time and we managed to survive the year without our bubble bursting!
Lots of exciting events this week. Everyone was extremely excited to receive their Leavers' Hoodies this week and even the exceptionally hot weather did not stop the children from wearing them! Many thanks to the Friends of Rufford Park who provided these for our Year 6 pupils.
In class, there was lots of laughter and smiles when children looked at their Celebration Books. This is a unique and special memory book that records the journey that children take through school.
On Wednesday, the children had pizza and enjoyed lots of dancing and games at the disco and on Thursday they created their own bookmarks using scratch art.
One of the final day events was spent signing shirts. It was great to see the return of this Year 6 tradition.
Both Mrs Senior and myself would like to thank you for our cards and gifts. We wish all in Maple Tree Class an enjoyable holiday and best wishes for the transition to secondary school.

Wow! What a week it has been!
For those of you who came to watch the Year 6 performance of 'Wow! What a Year !' I hope you enjoyed the performance. The staff and children worked hard to bring it together under challenging circumstances and many last minute actor changes had to be made. I am really proud of all of the children but particularly those who took on parts at the last minute. I think it has shown that despite a difficult time during the past year their confidence has increased. Well done everyone! I have included a couple of photos but will add some more after our final performance this afternoon.
So next week will be the final week for Year 6 in primary school. We are hoping for an enjoyable time whilst we complete some lessons and look forward to the disco and pizza on Wednesday.
Everyone has tried their leavers' hoodie on for a Year 6 photo and will be given their hoodie next week. Please can this hoodie be in school each day as we hope to take a few more photos when some children return to school next week.
The sunny weather is continuing over the weekend so enjoy and I will see you all next week.

Rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals, sports' day, rehearsals, rehearsals. That has been life for Maple Tree Class this week.
Year 6 are working hard on their production and looking forward to the rest of the cast re-joining them on Monday to work together to get ready for the performances later in the week. Props are being made and scripts gone!
Sports day was a successful sunny afternoon and the children enjoyed taking part in a range of traditional activities (photos to follow) such as the running race, egg & spoon and sack race. Denmark were the winners on this occasion.
I think sports will be a theme this weekend. Here's hoping that England are the winners!
Enjoy the weekend

Hi Everyone,
I'll let the photos do the talking this week. Year 6 had a fantastic time participating and helping with the Summer Fun Day.
Many thanks to the PTA for organising.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi,
We have been juggling completing our final year assessments with our production rehearsals and lots of singing this week. The children were very focussed and did their best to complete this work to the best of their ability. I have also been impressed with how the children are quickly learning their lines and the lyrics to all of the songs.
We are hoping to let everyone know the arrangements for the performance shortly. I'm sure you'll appreciate that this has been a little tricky under the current circumstances.
Enjoy the longer weekend.
