Weekly Update 9.12.22

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hello,

UKS2 have been busy practising for their WW2 Christmas Assembly next week. We are looking forward to welcoming parents to share what the children have been learning this term with the addition of some fabulous singing!

It was lovely to watch the younger children in school perform their Christmas nativities. Younger siblings were so happy to see their older brothers and sisters in the audience. This is the first time this has been possible since 2019.

On Wednesday next week, we have the UKS2 Christmas parties. Thank you to those parents who have paid a voluntary contribution towards the party food. Please can all monies be sent into school by Monday. On this day, children can wear party clothes. Please be mindful that children will need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear that is suitable for outside break and lunchtimes. In addition, it would be lovely if children could bring in a hat and scarf for the WW2 Christmas Assembly.

Have a lovely weekend.

Weekly Update 2.12.22

Hi,

This week the children in Maple Tree Class have been working hard completing a range of assessments. I have been impressed with the maturity with which the children have approached these tasks.

Please remember the Y5/6 Christmas assembly will be at 9.30 on Wednesday 14th December where we will be sharing some of our work from this term and singing some Christmas carols. There will also be tea/coffee and mince pies for parents/carers! Please contact this office if you have not yet requested tickets for this.

Have a great weekend.

Weekly Update 25.11.22

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hi everyone,

The children completed their narrative character descriptive writing this week. The children are becoming more confident to include a range of vocabulary and have been using this to great effect to show a range of emotions.

My maths group, completed their learning on adding and subtracting fractions. We have discussed the importance of a good times tables knowledge to find the common denominator in fractions and converting from improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa. It is vitally important that children continue to practise both their times tables knowledge and associated division facts to aid their speed and accuracy.

In PSHE, we discussed 'Kind Conversations' and how to listen effectively and show good listening. Ask your children to share with you what they need to do to demonstrate good listening.

A World Cup Non-Uniform Day was enjoyed today with a focus on World Cup maths.

Good Luck to England tonight!
