Hi,
Lots of things going on in school!
UKS2 have been busy practising their singing ahead of the 'A Very Victorian Christmas' assembly. Words for the songs have been sent home to learn. To add to the authenticity of our assembly please can children wear the Victorian clothes they wore for the Armley Mills Trip. On Wednesday 17th December the children can come to school in these clothes and bring their school uniform to change into afterwards.
Lots of fraction work is taking place in UKS2. This will be continuing until the end of the term. The children have also been busy with their biographical writing and have learned lots about the life of Thomas Barnardo.
Another hectic week ahead......

Hi,
It feels as though Christmas is fast approaching.
UKS2 have been practising their singing ready to share with parents on Wednesday 17th December. The children have also been reciting our Christmas poem.
Our history lesson this week involved learning about Victorian inventors. There are lots!

It feels as though Christmas is fast approaching.

Hi,
A shorter but, as always, a busy week.
Ash Tree Class have started to learn about the features of biographical writing and learning about the life of the famous Victorian, Thomas Barnardo.
The class also enjoyed learning about crime and punishment in this era.
In maths, my group have completed one of the units on multiplication and division and have started work on fractions which will continue for the rest of this term.
As part of the preparation for the Victorian Christmas Assembly it has been funny to hear some of the Victorian jokes - keep them coming in.

Hi,
What a busy week for UKS2 in school! Remembrance Assembly, Mindmate Assembly, Anti-bullying Week, cross country, Open Day for new reception parents, cinema trip, Children in Need Day, FORP activity of designing Christmas Cards and lots of learning in lessons!
Ash Tree Class worked hard this week to complete their poetry writing. The children have really enjoyed this and this shows in the fantastic poems. In maths, my group has been working on understanding square and cube numbers and multiplying by 10,100 and 1000. We will continue with this next week. Miss Bairstow's maths group have been working on fractions.
Following the MindMate assembly on Tuesday, the class completed a PSHE lesson on identifying unhealthy relationships and how to deal with these.
It has been a rainy end to the week. Just a reminder for children to bring a warm and waterproof coat to school every day. A spare pair of socks is also a good idea!
Fingers crossed for a drier weekend.
