Hi,
A shorter but very busy week!
Next week, Year 6 will sit their SATs (Statutory Assessment Tests). It is extremely important that all Year 6 children arrive at school on time. Breakfast Club is available to all Year 6 children in the hall from 8:30am. The children have worked hard to prepare for next week. A good night's sleep before each day is the final ingredient required.
Year 5 Ash will be relocated to the Community Room whilst the assessment week takes place, however the children will arrive and leave by the normal doors. In a slight change to their timetable, the children will be doing PE on Monday.
Year 5 have enjoyed time with the reception class children today with an Attenbear Picnic to commemorate the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi,
A beautiful sunny week!
Year 5 enjoyed a visit to Yeadon Tarn this week. The trip is linked to our English unit on persuasive writing. These leaflets will be shared with the children in Year 2 to persuade them to visit the Tarn. The children in Year 6 will be writing a persuasive leaflet using their experience of the residential trip to Peat Rigg.
Year 6 are busy preparing for SATs week (11th - 14th May). Just a reminder that Breakfast Club for Year 6 will be available to all in Year 6 on SATs week; children should arrive at 8:30 and come straight to the hall.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!

Hi,
A great start to the summer term - how quickly the year is passing!
On Thursday morning, UKS2 worked together as we launched our new topic of Ancient Greece. Time was spent in each of the three classrooms, delving into art, literacy and geography and the enthusiasm was very evident. We are all looking forward to further work on this exciting period of history.
This term’s class novel is by Maz Evans and is called ‘Who Let the Gods out?’ The children have looked at the cover, made predictions and read/ listened to the first three chapters. It is a fantastic book – full of humour and adventure and everyone seems to be enjoying it so far.
PE this term is Athletics and Striking Games– two fun lessons have happened already this week. We have been practising basic skills so to start off with but we will soon move onto small games of rounders or cricket.
The Year 6 children are busy preparing for SATs (11.5.26 - 14.5.26). A note was sent home this week informing parents that breakfast will be available to all children in Year 6 on Monday - Thursday of that week (children should arrive at 8:30 on these days).
Enjoy the super sunny weekend!

The link for Year 6 to order their Leavers' Hoodies is now live Leavers' Hoodies
Please can all orders be made before we return to school on the 20th April. We are planning for Year 6 to receive these at the end of SATs week.

Hi,
An amazing performance of the Wizard of Oz from the Year 5s this week! I have been so impressed by the children's dedication to this performance that they have been practising since January. This professionalism certainly paid off; the audience loved it! The actors (and Mrs Amos!) are now looking forward to their after show party next week.
In class, the adventure story writing is underway. We are hoping to finish these epic stories before the Easter holidays.
Have a great weekend
