Weekly Update 1.7.22

Miss Bairstow (d.bairstow) on: Ash Tree Class Blog

Hi,

On Wednesday a group of Year 6's visited the ALPT art exhibition and saw the work all the children from local schools had created for the event. They also had a go at some jelly printing which they really enjoyed.

Year 5 have been busy continuing their work on angles in maths and we have really been getting into our class guided reading novel, "Who Let the Gods Out". The children are really enjoying this text and laughing along so it has been a lovely way to end the year.

Some of the Year 5's also represented the school at a football tournament on Wednesday evening and made it through to a semi final. Sadly, they didn't come home as the overall winners but they still had a fantastic time and played really well.

Weekly Update 17.6.22

Miss Bairstow (d.bairstow) on: Ash Tree Class Blog

Hi,

This week we have finally enjoyed some sunny weather in school (although Friday may have been a little too hot!). Just a reminder as the temperatures do increase, please make sure your child has a water bottle in school everyday and wears/brings sun cream to apply when necessary. Sensible sun hats are also encouraged.

In maths, Mrs Trotter's group have been working on algebra whilst my group have started to learn about the properties of shape. So far we have recapped what we know already about angles and are ready to apply this to our new learning in the next few weeks.

In English, we have been publishing our excellent Greek myths (have a look below at some of our finished pieces) and Y6 have also been busy reading through the script for their leavers' production.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Bairstow :)
