Well we have reached the end of another term!
It has definitely felt more spring-like this week and it has been lovely to see the children playing outside without the need for a coat.
In our topic 'Step back in Time, this week the children have been learning about William Murgartroyd. To complete this topic the children enjoyed some Victorian Schoolroom drama. They even go to use some pretend chalk boards.
Congratulations to all the children who have achieved their 2, 5 or 10 Times Tables. Anytime you have over the Easter break to continue working on these is much appreciated.
All that's left to say is ...
Happy Easter!
Have a wonderful break.

The children had a real treat to start the week off. This was a sneak preview of the Key Stage 2 production of 'Bugsy Malone'. The children all really enjoyed the performance and all the children in the show were amazing!
In maths we have continued our work on money. We have been finding different ways of making the same amount and counting money. Next week we will be comparing amounts of money and solving some money problems.
Our PSHE this week has also been linked to money. The children have been learning about how to look after their money.
In English we have started preparing to write a diary as a Victorian child at Southview School. The children have been using drama to get a better idea of what life in school would have been like in Victorian Yeadon. They have also been learning about the meanings of some key 'topic' vocabulary. Next week they will be planning and writing their diary entries.
In Art we have continued the theme of Victorian Yeadon. The children have been doing some observational drawings of the skyline, in particular the Mill chimneys that are still visible from the school grounds. They have also been using some pictures of Victorian Yeadon.
It seems unbelievable that next week is the last week before the end of yet another term. This year really is going too quickly!
Have a wonderful weekend!

It was so lovely to talk to so many of you this week and share your children's work with you.
In maths we have started a new unit of work 'Money'. We have been using coins to make different amounts and counting money. This week's homework is also about money.
In English we have been writing a diary entry as one of the Little Pigs. The children have included time words and details of how the pigs felt.
The children have also completed assessments this week in reading and maths. I have been very impressed with their resilience and levels of independence.
I hope you all enjoy a sunny weekend.
