Hello!
The second week in Pear Tree has gone by in a flash. All the children are now becoming familiar with our new routines and seem very happy in our new class!
In English we have started our new focus text 'Katie in London' and have been writing descriptive sentences about the Lion. The children have really impressed me with their use of phonics to spell words independently! I have chosen a few to be put on to our 'WOW Work' wall in the classroom.
In Maths Year 1 have continued with the focus on numbers up to 10. We have also been looking at different representation of numbers and writing the number names.
Thank you to everyone for already starting with lots of home reading; it is great to see all the children so enthusiastic about reading!
Another thanks to those who came to the 'Meet the Teacher' evening on Wednesday.
