Weekly Update 16.05.25

Hello!
It has been a lovely busy week in Pear Tree.
In English we have continued with our focus text 'The Pirates Next Door'. It is a fabulous story and the children have really enjoyed reading and exploring ideas with their writing. This week we have written letters as angry neighbours to the council insisting that the Jolly Rogers must leave because of the chaos they are causing in Dull-on-Sea.
In Science we have looked at the life cycle of a frog, we talked about how the tadpoles go through the process of metamorphosis as then grow legs and turn in to frogs. All week we have also been looking at our caterpillars and documenting their growth in our diaries. I think the heat has accelerated the growth of our caterpillars because after only 1 week they have grown enormously!
In DT after designing our lunch box for Pirate Paddy we got busy making them! Everyone managed to create an amazing lunch box that met the design criteria. We just have a little finishing off to do - to make them waterproof and a design that is appealing to pirates. We will be testing them after the half term-break.
Have a lovely weekend.
