The children have had a wonderful week full of lots of excitement.
In English we have written a recount from the point of view of the fox from the story of 'The Smartest Giant in Town'. We enjoyed acting out key parts of the story using drama techniques.
In maths we have continued learning about fractions. This week we have focused on quarters, as well as recapping halves.
On Wednesday the children participated in a PSHE workshop about how to stay healthy and look after their wellbeing. Harold the giraffe also visited and the children loved giving him a stroke or cuddle goodbye.
The highlight of the week was World Book Day yesterday. The children enjoyed showing off their costumes in a parade with the rest of Key Stage One and EYFS. We had a day full of reading (and some PE & DT too!).
Today we have looked at how much our cornflower seeds have grown since we planted them last week. We enjoyed writing in our plant diary and measuring how tall our plants are, using the rulers.
Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you again on Monday,
Miss Atkinson
