Weekly Update

The first spring half term has come to an end. The children have amazed me with their hard work and how much progress they have made; they should all be very proud of themselves. Mr Turner has also started his teacher training placement with us, so will also be teaching the children over the next few weeks.
In English we finished writing our instructions for how to get Cinderella ready for the ball. In maths we have learnt about money; year 1 have learnt to identify different coins and notes whilst year 2 have learnt how to add coins to make £1.
Last week in science the children enjoyed a visit from a tortoise whilst learning about reptiles! This week the children created a poster about their favourite animal, making sure to say write whether it is categorised as a mammal, bird, reptile, fish or amphibian.
In PSHE we have learnt about how to speak up for ourselves and state what we feel comfortable with. For example by saying "I don't like hugs please can I have a high 5 instead?"
We also enjoyed playing with the parachute in the hall, as a reward for meeting our class target of completing our morning activity during the register and being ready to learn at the start of the day. Well done Lime Tree Class!
Have a wonderful half term and I will see you again on Monday 23rd February.
