Weekly Update 20.11.25

Posted: Nov 20, 2025 by: K Atkinson (k.atkinson) on: Lime Tree Class Blog

A slightly shorter but very bust week has finished.

In science we have learnt to name materials that objects are made out of. We went on a hunt around the classroom for different objects and spoke about what they were made from.

In English we used our class story map to tell the story of Where the Wild Things off by hear. We then used this to write the story in our English books.

In maths, we learnt how to measure the length of objects in non-standard units (cubes). We also learnt how to subtract on the number line. Year 2 have learnt how to add 2 two-digit numbers by drawing the representation.

I have been especially happy with how the children are making good progress with their reading - lots of them have moved up a book band! Year 1 have learnt three new split digraphs (a-e, i-e, o-e).

Have a wonderful weekend and hopefully it will be a bit warmer next week!
