Weekly Update 10.10.25

In English a letter got delivered to the classroom which contained Samuel Pepys' diary! The children enjoyed reading the diary and identifying the features of a diary. We also enjoyed acting out the story of The Great Fire of London from Samuel Pepys perspective. We then wrote some thought bubbles as Samuel Pepys.
In maths, Year 1 began learning how to solve addition number sentences using the part whole model. Year 2 spent the week recapping their number bonds to 10 and 20.
In PSHE we discussed the qualities of a good friend and children sorted picture scenarios into those showing someone being a good friend and those not being a good friend.
The children also enjoyed exploring their sense of touch in science and we explored different textures around the classroom.
Thank you for all the cardboard box donations to use in our Great Fire of London workshops!
I look forward to seeing you all on Parent's Evening next week.
Enjoy the weekend and I will see you again on Monday,
Miss Atkinson
