Welcome to Lime Tree's Blog!
Our first week back at school has gone by very quickly. The children are all starting to settle into a new year and new routines.
In maths, Year 1 have recapped how to sort objects into different groups and how to count up to 10. Year 2 have recapped how to work systematically to find number bonds up to 10.
In English we have written about our summer holidays and have been inspired by the book 'Perfectly Norman' to write about ourselves and how we are unique.
This half term the children will be learning about The Great Fire of London. Our core text for the first few weeks is ''Katie in London'. Our curriculum overview can be seen on the Lime Class webpage if you would like more detail about each subject.
Some general information points:
Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child wears a PE kit on these days. Earrings should not be worn on these days and long hair should be tied up.
Please make sure your child brings their book bag to school every day.
Year 2s will get their first piece of homework on Friday 12th September. Year 1 will start getting homework after October half term.
Enjoy the weekend (I am sure you will have some very tired children after this week!) and I look forward to meeting you all properly on Wednesday afternoon for the Meet the Teacher drop in session.
