Another week has flown by!
The children have enjoyed starting our DT topic of 'Pirate Paddy's Lunchbox'. Over the next few weeks we will be designing and making a packed lunch box for a group of pirates! Today we looked at a wicker basket and identified the positives and problems of using this as a lunchbox. We also looked at different examples of packed lunch boxes to get ideas for our lunchbox designs. Thank you to everyone who has been sending in cardboard boxes and fruit punnets to provide materials for the children to use when making their lunchboxes!
In maths we have continued learning about turns. Year 1 have now learns quarter, half, full and three-quarter turns. Year 2 have begun to apply their knowledge of turns to solve more abstract problems.
Each child wrote a fantastic recount in English, from the point of view of Matilda from 'The Pirate's Next Door'. We've had a big push on handwriting and correctly forming letters which was evident in their writing this week.
Enjoy the longer weekend and see you again on Tuesday!
