Hello,
A short entry from me this week because I do not want to take the limelight away from Year 5 and their amazing performances of Bugsy Malone this week! A few highlights can be found on the school Facebook page here.
Next week is a big week for Year 6 as it is their residential to Peat Rigg. Don't forget to pack sun cream! Looking at the weather forecast for next week we might need it and we are outdoors all day.
On Wednesday, please can children arrive at school at the normal time but go straight to the hall (the side doors will be open). Any medication needs to be checked in with myself (both classes) and administering details confirmed. We will bring any in school medication (blue inhalers).
We aim to leave school by 9:15am and return to school at the end of the school day (traffic permitting) - we will notify school if there is a significant delay.
If there are any queries ahead of Wednesday please do not hesitate to contact either Mrs Trotter or myself on our class email addresses.
A reminder of the kit list is attached.
And finally, a reminder that the Scholastic Book Fair is in school the first week back after the holidays!
Have a lovely weekend!

Hello,
We have had another really busy week in UKS2.
In English we have been writing balanced arguments, in maths we have been learning about decimals, fractions and angles, in science we have been learning how to classify animals into groups based on their characteristics and in topic we learnt about the different terrain in Mesoamerica and goods the Maya people had to trade because of this.
Some children also went out on a cinema trip, Year 5 have been busy rehearsing for Bugsy and next week we have a trip to Benton Park for Year 5 to watch We Will Rock You and some Year 6 children have been invited to a transition basketball event!
Phew... I think that is everything!
Have a good weekend!

Hello,
The highlight of this week was definitely World Book Day on Thursday! Click the Facebook link below to see some of UKS2 dressed up for World Book Day! The children made lots of effort with their animal inspired costumes and brought in lots of linked books to recommend to others! Ash Tree also enjoyed taking part in the National Literacy Trust Premier League Takeover Quiz - The Great Big Footy & Booky Quiz 2025. Sadly, we didn't win any prizes but enjoyed combining our book and football knowledge to take part!

In English, we have been researching the fors and againsts linked to the use of palm oil in preparation for writing a balanced argument about this issue next week.
In Maths, Miss Bairstow's group have moved onto decimals (finally!) and Mrs Trotter's group have been learning about shape.
Have a good weekend!
