Hello,
We have had a great first week! It has been strange getting used to teaching just Year 6 and calling them Maple instead of Ash - but I am sure we will get there!
We have done lots of revision work of basics in English and maths, introduced our topic, looked at our new guided reading text and even completed a whole Y5 and Y6 rounders afternoon on the field today!
We are looking forward to next week!
Have a super weekend.
Miss Bairstow :)

Hello,
We made it! We have had a fantastic year in Ash Tree class and I will be very sad to see some of them go... but also very excited to keep the Y5 children for another year next year in Y6!
Thank you so much for all the lovely gifts and cards we received in UKS2 - your support is very much appreciated.
Most importantly, we need to say a big goodbye to our 2025 Year 6 cohort! As Mr Cooke said earlier this week at the Leavers' production, they have been a fantastic group to work with and will be very much missed! We are so proud of everything they have achieved this year and wish them all the best for their new starts at their various secondary schools.
Here is a gallery of pictures of our "Class of 2025" showing off their leavers' hoodies last week!

Have a fabulous summer everyone and see some of you in September!

Hello,
Another busy busy week as we head towards the end of term! For the first time in two weeks Y5 were in school today and not out on an adventure. We do have a trip to Guiseley School planned on Wednesday though - please make sure you have completed this survey to let us know how your child will get to this event.
Y6 have been busy putting the final touches to their production and were very excited to receive their leavers' hoodies. Y5 have been busy writing adventure stories based on Darwin's Dragons and also performed a ukulele concert on Monday.
Have a fab weekend in the sunshine!

Hello,
This week Y6 have been busy rehearsing for their upcoming leavers' production most of the week! Y5 have been finishing their fantastic leaflets all about Yeadon Tarn. Y6 have also been given their Bikeability groups for next week so please check with your child to find out which days they need to bring in their helmets/bikes if applicable.
The Y5 children from Ash Tree Class had a fantastic time this morning completing an art workshop led by staff and sixth formers from Benton Park at St Oswald's School as part of the annual ALPT art exhibition. This year's theme is "Yorkshire" and this morning we created some "Yorkshire tapestries" inspired by the work of artists Grayson Perry and Nigel Peake. The exhibition is open over the weekend at St Oswald's Church in Guiseley and features work from all schools in the ALPT as well as the work we created today. If you get chance please pop in and see our work! Click here to see some of the highlights from our workshop.
Have a great weekend.
