Even though we have had a short week, it feels like we have managed to achieve a lot.
We have started new topics in both Maths and English, with the pupils showing good prior knowledge for both.
In P.E., we continued working on our hockey skills. We continued dribbling and shooting before putting our skills to the test in a game situation.
In Science, we conducted two investigations this week. The first was to test which solid materials were soluble before investigation which temperature sugar dissolved the quickest. We discussed variables and predictions before setting up and conducting our investigation.
To gain a class reward pupils have to earn Dojo points for the positive things they do in class/school. Each time the pupils hit their target, we discuss and take part in a whole-class reward. To mix things up for this reward, I suggested the pupils could do some baking. Last Friday, pupils worked in small groups to weigh ingredients and create the cake mixture. Once they had cooked and cooled, the pupils had an opportunity to decorate their cake. I was lucky to have a spare one and they were delicious!
