Weekly Update 04/03/22

It's been a busy first week back to start the half term.

In Maths, we have continued working on our fraction unit. We continued where we left at the end of last half term with subtracting a range of fractions, before moving onto multiplying fractions. I have, again, been really impressed with the pupils resilience and attitude towards this unit.

In geography, we have moved onto a new topic: Rivers. We started the topic discussing how rivers are shown with atlases and on maps. Pupils then had to hunt for rivers around the UK and the world, finding their sources and mouths.

On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day. It was great seeing the range of costumes from, Cat in the Hat, Harry Potter, Mary Poppins and even an evil pumpkin. We visited the World Book Day website and had a look at some of the books available to get with their vouchers. Working in pairs, the pupils then completed a book scavenger hunt, where they had to locate different items from a range of books.
