Welcome to Cedar class
In our blog here you will find lot's of information about your child's learning during this academic year and also useful documents or updates throughout the year.
Firstly, some administrative notices. Please remember that our P.E days are Tuesdays and Fridays (Year 3) and Tuesdays (P.E) and Fridays (Swimming) Year 4s. Swimming will start from Friday 13th September - Mr Kyriacou will send you further information soon about swimming. It is school policy that no earrings are worn for any P.E or swimming activities so we recommend children don't come to school wearing them on PE day. Alternatively, your child must be able to either remove them themselves quickly prior to a P.E lessons or bring their own plasters/tape that they can apply themselves over their earrings. Thank you for your cooperation with this safety matter.
To ensure we all have a successful year please make sure you communicate with school (and myself) as soon as possible with anything that we can do to further support your child. You can do this via the school office in person or email (office@ruffordparkprimary.org.uk), with myself in person at drop off or pick up or via class email (cedar@ruffordparkprimary.org.uk). If you email class, once I have read your email you will always get a reply but please be aware these emails are not monitored outside of school hours nor during school teaching time (i.e lesson time) so there may be a slight delay. Anything urgent I would recommend contacting the school office in the first instance.
If your child has joined an afterschool club then these will start (usually) next week (Week 2) but you will get further information via the school office for these and the office is the best place to seek information about clubs rather than myself as class teacher because they will have the most up to date information.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible after school next Wednesday (11.09.24) for a 'Meet the Teacher' opportunity in our Cedar classroom - more details will be sent soon.
Secondly, our learning this week. I am so proud of every child this week who has shown me how proud they can be of their work, how hard they can work and how enthusiastic they can be about their learning. We have started our character descriptions in English, our place value in Maths, our grouping and classifying in Science and a lot of other fantastic learning opportunities.
Have a wonderful, safe and happy weekend.
