It has been a very hot week in Cherry Tree Class but that has not stopped the children from working really hard. They have made a great start to the half-term!
This week we have started our new topic called 'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside'. We have been learning about what a seaside is and where in the United Kingdom we might find them. The children have been using maps to find the most well-known seaside resorts.
Keeping to the theme of the seaside, our story this week has been 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch'. The children have been writing as Hamish the cat about how he felt when his owners sent him across the wire to the lighthouse.
In maths we have been doing some work on telling the time. We have gone back over 'on the hour' and 'half past' and started to look at using 'quarter to' and 'quarter past' the hour. Any extra work at home on this would be much appreciated.
Enjoy your weekend. It looks like it is going to be a very hot one!
