Weekly Post 21.05.21

Another fantastic week of learning in Cherry Tree Class!

We started our new story this week ‘Someone Swallowed Stanley’.  The children have really enjoyed the story and have shown a real interest in its message ‘Save our Seas’.  This story fits in well with our topic and our work on being able to name the Oceans of the World.

The children have written some lovely descriptions of Stanley and blurbs about the story.  We have also designed some posters to persuade people to look after our seas and not pollute them.

In maths we have been learning about measures.  We have been measuring in cm’s and thinking about making sure that our measurements are accurate.  Our homework this week reinforces this learning.

In topic we have been learning about Neil Armstrong.  The children enjoyed watching some live footage of him on the moon.

We had some different teachers teaching the class on Thursday.  The children were amazing!  I am sure all the teachers went away wishing that they could work in our fantastic school with our wonderful Year 2 children.

Congratulations also this week to our class Blue Peter Badge Winner, Georgia.  What a great achievement.

Have a wonderful weekend and let’s hope we get some sunshine!
