Well, it has been another very busy week in Cherry Tree Class. I am sure the children will all be ready for a rest at the weekend!
We have continued to learn about famous explorers this week as part of our ‘Message in a Bottle’ topic. This week we have been comparing Amelia Earhart and Sir Edmund Hillary. We have talked about how these two famous explorers were similar and different to each other. The children have been really interested in their adventures.
In English we have continued to use the story of the Village of Round and Square houses to inspire our writing. We have acted out the night that ‘Old Naka’ erupted and written a dairy recount as one of the Villagers. The children had great fun doing some outside drama!
In maths we have been solving word problems using all 4 operations. We have also started some work on Position and Direction. Any work at home using the language linked to this would be much appreciated (right, left, forwards, backwards, half turn, quarter turn, above, below, and so on).
On Thursday we had some P.E. time on the Trim Trail. The children showed great skill and control working their way across the obstacles.
Have a fabulous weekend!
