Hello!
It was great to welcome so many smiling faces back on Monday. We have had a good week in Pear Tree.
In Maths we have been working on number bonds to 10 and finding them systemically by looking for patterns in the numbers. We have also recapped on the various practical resources (number line, ten frame & part-whole model) that can be used when solving addition number sentences.
As it was Bonfire Night on Thursday, we spent some time talking about the history behind the day and why we celebrate it. The children then had an opportunity to make a firework picture using chalk and pastels.
In Science we started our new topic all about materials. The children explored and sorted materials according to their properties.
Homework books will now be going home with the children every Friday. The English or Maths work must be completed and returned by the following Thursday. Thank you for your support with this :)
