Hi there,
Year 5 Oak have had a great week!
We have been busy in English writing our character descriptions of the piano player from the short film, 'The Piano'. The children have enjoyed developing their sentence work skills and are becoming much more confident using fronted adverbials and descriptive sentence starters.
In maths, the children have started to read and interpret line graphs and are beginning to solve statistical problems too.
It's been lovely to see the children having fun on our new trim trail as well - see slideshow in the highlight section above.

Hello!
Welcome to Oak Tree's first weekly class blog post. Each week, these blog posts will give you a brief insight as to what we've been up to each week in class.
This week, we have started to look at statistics in maths and understand different types of data and how these can be represented in different forms. In English, we have enjoyed watching a short film clip 'The Piano' before beginning to work on our descriptive writing skills.
On Wednesday, the children began their new Handball P.E unit with Fisical and loved getting stuck in to mini-matches!
