Well done to these pupils!
Reader of the Week: Syd
Special Mention Pupil: Morgan
100% Attendance Award:
Powerful ballads have started our mornings off all week – Meatloaf being the firm favourite amongst Oak Tree Class, I believe!
In Maths, we have begun a unit called Statistics. This week, we have been drawing, reading and interpreting line graphs; next week we look at interpreting tables, as well as another arithmetic test. We have continued to draft our leaflets for our Y2 pupils, and next week we hope to finish writing them and finally publish them too, before sharing with one of our young buddies! We shall also be delving more into our class novel, Darwin’s Dragons. The story has been exciting up to now.
By far, the big event in school this week has been our celebration of VE Day. The children really entered into this with thought and sensitivity, I am pleased to report. Our day on Thursday was spent entirely considering what it must’ve been like for children in 1945 – I hope they came home telling you all about our activities. It was also so pleasing to realise how much information they all remembered from our first Y5 topic on World War Two.
There are some pictures on our school Facebook page: Rufford Park Primary School and Nursery.
I hope you have a super weekend!
Yours,
Mrs Adrienne Amos
