Well done to these pupils!
What an effective week we have had! Our class music theme has been ‘funk music’ and it has certainly set us all up for full and funky lessons!
Our tricky Maths unit on Area and Perimeter has been finished – hurray! We spent an enjoyable ‘Round Robin’ style lesson today, ensuring we know how to find the area and the perimeter of any rectilinear shape. I was very impressed by their learning!
It would be really helpful if you could help your child recall these simple conversions for percentages:
½ = 0.5 = 50%
1/10 = 0.1 = 10%
1/5 = 0.2 = 20%
¼ = 0.25 = 75%
¾ = 0.75 = 75% and any other related facts.
It’s an area that the children still need much reminding.
In our English lessons, we have been researching and designing a special leaflet about Yeadon Tarn, which we plan to share/give to a Y2 child once finished. This task will have been made much easier after our visit to the tarn on a gloriously sunny Wednesday! What a fabulous day we had!
Our ukulele lessons continued – we are looking at and working on playing Low Rider and Three Little Birds, in preparation for our Big Y5 Ukulele Gig (more details to follow!).
Homework this week is more on spelling strategies (I spoke with lots of you at Parents' Evening about how these can help improve spelling recall), work on Area and Perimeter and, of course, our weekly spelling list! All due back in on Wednesday.
Have a lovely long weekend! May the sun keep shining...
Yours,
Mrs Adrienne Amos
