Weekly Update 12.3.21

Hello everyone,
Well, it's been a busy but productive first week back! It was lovely to see everyone back together and the children have returned to their work with energy and enthusiasm. In the pictures below, Beech Tree are enjoying a rhythmic music lesson from Mr Jennings from ArtForms. They will be continuing weekly lessons this half term.
As part of our topic work on Volcanoes and Fossils, the children became 'history detectives' - searching for clues about the famous fossil hunter Mary Anning. We studied her portrait (below), learnt the difference between primary and secondary historical sources, and also considered their reliability. We were surprised to discover she was struck by lightning at the age of one!

Our special mentions this week are Ella, for always having a go, and Brooke, for reader of the week! Well done!
