Weekly Update 29.1.21

Posted: Jan 29, 2021 by: Mrs. Cahill (n.cahill) on: Beech Tree Class Blog 2020-21

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well. Many thanks again for your ongoing support. We understand what a difficult situation this is for many families and appreciate everything you are doing to support your child's learning. Please don't be too hard on yourselves if you are struggling to juggle home schooling with work and other responsibilities. Next week is Children's Mental Health Week (see below) - but it's just as important to look after ourselves as well as our children.

To download a zip folder of learning resources for next week, click here.

Next week's live meetings will be...

Monday 1st February (10am) - Introduction to this week's learning / feedback and questions.

Thursday 4th February  (9:30am) - Live English lesson (around 20 minutes) - a celebration of our volcano adventure stories. We're asking every child to choose a wow word / phrase / sentence from their story that they are proud of and would be willing to share. We will also be discussing the importance of looking after our mental health.

CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK RESOURCES:

 - BBC video for parents and carers (tips for supporting your child): www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/education-55620288

 - Song for children ("It's okay not to be okay"): www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaIuIhsN44Y

 - Miss Tinks video for children: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0ToxBHCdhM

 - Printable resources for children: https://www.1decision.co.uk/news/project-smile#downloads

 - Children can also log-in to Teams on Monday to see an assignment from our Deputy Headteacher Miss Tidey.

Our goal is to be as flexible as possible, so do please get in touch if you have any questions or comments, or would like to be added to our class mailing list: beech@ruffordparkprimary.org.uk. Across the school we have a wide range of needs and we are trying our best to accommodate everyone.

Take care,

Mrs Cahill
