Hello everyone,
Throughout the week, we have been focusing on column subtraction. We have been focused on exchanging from multiple columns and using the correct mathematical vocabulary to explain how a calculation has been worked out. We have also been solving subtraction word problems, identifying the key information within them in order to understand how to solve them. The children have been working really hard and made super progress. I'm very proud of them!
Beech Tree have been practising our class song, which is Blackbird by The Beatles. This week the children were using glockenspiels to practise playing the backing track for the song, gradually increasing the amount of notes being played and the speed of it, challenging the children further. They all really enjoyed it and worked very well together to help each other out.
The children also made their own Halloween themed masks, which looked great (and very scary!)
