Weekly Update-27/11/25

Posted: Nov 27, 2025 by: Mr Kyriacou (n.kyriacou) on: Beech Tree Blog

Hello everyone,

This week, for our writing, the children published their persuasive information texts which revolved around whether the Vikings deserve their savage reputation or not. They worked really hard on them and they were a joy to read. We then moved on from this unit of work and have started our unit on poetry, focusing specifically on Kenning poems.

In maths, we have started our unit of work on multiplication and division. This week, the focus has been on 12x tables, multiplying by 1 and 0 and dividing by 1 and itself. The children have been working so hard and it’s great to see their times table knowledge and confidence increasing with each lesson. This has also had an impact on the times table challenge that the children do each week. Three more children have moved up to the next stage.

In computing, the children used their editing skills to take two different images and combine them together into one image. This was challenging lesson, which require lots of different skills to be able to successfully create a hybrid image, however, the children took the challenge on and produced some amazing pieces of work. They managed to combine a mountain range and a sky from completely different images and stitch them together seamlessly into one.

The Skipping School also came in this to work with the children on a range of skipping skills which they will be using during the skipping festival later in the year. The children really enjoyed it and were able to show off their great range of skipping skills. They were also every supportive towards each other and represented the school extremely well.

Take care,

Mr Kyriacou
