Weekly Update 3.3.23

Posted: Mar 3, 2023 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog

Hello everyone,

What a busy week have had in Willow Tree Class! We have finished our current fractions topic (although we will be revisiting this in the Summer term), we have read the next few chapters of our new whole class guided reading text, looked at the importance of being safe online and how we have to be careful when searching as some website adverts might be dangerous and of course, had an action-packed day on World Book Day!

On World Book Day this week, we added the final details to our t-shirts and showed them to our classmates and then we took a trip to Italy in the afternoon and attended a Book Tasting! During the afternoon, children took part in a carousel of activities looking at different genres of books. Each table had a different genre including: non-fiction, fantasy, poetry, action adventure and mystery. The children spent time reading and discussing lots of the examples of these genres and it was fantastic to see how engaged they were in this reading session. Pictures from the day can be found here

Homework has been sent home this week and is due in on Wednesday. Please make sure books are completed and handed in each Wednesday so we can mark, attach the new homework and send them home that night so children have access to the research project information as much as possible. We will be doing the TT Awards test next Thursday.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Simms
