Horsforth Featherbank (Home and Away): Friday 18th March 2022

A double header played on the astro at Horsforth High School saw Rufford take all 6 points. With two games played on this lovely evening, we took 3 points from the first game in a 6-1 win before playing the return fixture, going one better and winning 7-1. An important evening to pick points up for the league and a great performance from all involved!

Horsforth Newlaithes (Home): Tuesday 22nd March 2022

A tough evening of football for all involved with the return fixture against Newlaithes and quite a different game to the 2-1 win we had in the first fixture before Christmas! We gave a great account of ourself and the score line of 7-2 in this game didn’t tell the whole picture. 3 points apiece over the two games is probably a fair representation of how evenly matched the two teams are, and this is shown with how close we are in the league standings at this time. A huge well done to all involved.

Rawdon Littlemoor (Away): Monday 28th March 2022

A rather depleted squad travelled to Rawdon Littlemoor on Monday night for what turned in to an 8 a-side game in the league. Despite coming away with a 5-0 defeat this was one of our better performances of the season and we gave a fantastic account of ourselves, particularly in the first half! We still have a return fixture to play against the same team, which with some of our players returning for this after the Easter holidays I expect to be a much closer score line.

West End Primary (Home and Away): Wednesday 30th March 2022

With time becoming tight before all fixtures need to be played, we hosted both the home and away fixture against West End Primary School on the same evening. 2x 30-minute games would provide the opportunity to pick up 6 points in the league. The first fixture was a close match with us falling 1-0 behind early on before a positive run and shot / cross was deflected in from Louie Collins. A dramatic end saw Rufford Park win 2-1 with a superb strike from the outside of the box by Jacob  Tetley finding its way into the top corner.

The second of the two fixtures felt like a totally different game with a weather change as the snow came. It started with a little drizzle of rain and two evenly matched teams working hard to take home the other 3 points. However this quickly turned to blizzard conditions with snow settling on the pitch. A quick break saw West End nick a goal and go 1-0 for the second game running before the match was abandoned with 10 minutes remaining and West End taking the points. Another exciting night of football and 3 points a piece was a fair reflection of the games on the evening.
