A special well done to these children!
One Hit Wonders have been the music of the week – Chesney Hawkes gained the most positive feedback.
We completed our shape unit in maths; we published the retelling of the story of Perseus and Medusa in English sessions.
In Art, we spent a little more time researching the Victorian artist, Alfred Wallis – many members of the class have now finished fantastic artist studies in their Art/Sketch book. Next week, we are going to draw shells, so if you have any shells your child can bring in to school, that would be very helpful.
Our highlight was taking a trip across to Benton Park High School on Wednesday, to participate in a Y5 Transition Day. Lots of subjects were explored by the children, including Maths, Science, Art, DT, Drama and French. But, for many, the best part of the afternoon was visiting an ‘actual high school’ and spending some time inside it. All good preparation for decisions to be made next year.
We had a Y12 student joining us for the week - Izzy was very helpful and the children seemed to enjoy having her working in the classroom. We may well see her when we go for another Transition Day to Guisely on 15th July.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
