Weekly Update - 26.6.26

Hello,
We waited all that time for the summer to arrive and now it has I'm not sure many of us are happy about it! It was been incredibly HOT in the upstairs classrooms this week but the children have been amazing and really persevered (thank goodness it came after SATs though!).
This week we have semi "auditioned" for parts for our leavers show, counted up our Grow a Fiver profits and most importantly - completed our pieces for annual ALPT art exhibition being held at St Oswald's Church over the weekend. This year the theme was "Nursery Rhymes" so each phase in school chose one nursery rhyme to base their artwork on. We opted for "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, once I caught a fish alive..." as our art topic this term is the Seaside so it fit perfectly with the work we were already doing! UKS2 worked really hard to perfect their watercolour techniques and painted some beautiful fish. Our amazing work experience helpers last week constructed us a "pond" backing for us to display our work on and I think the finished result is very effective.
Have a lovely weekend - hopefully cooler next week!
Miss Bairstow :)
