Hello everyone,
This week, in our writing, the children have been working on their persuasive leaflets which are all about food waste. The children have really enjoyed this piece of work and have shown how passionate they are about the problem. They’ve used a great range of persuasive devices within their writing to get people to start reducing their waste.
In our reading, we have continued with our class novel (The Chocolate Touch) and the children are eager to find out how John manages to get rid of his powers which have now become a curse.
In maths, we have continued our unit of work on fractions. We have focused on find fractions of amounts and also finding equivalent fractions.
In computing, we have continued with outraging unit based around repetition of shapes. This week, the children learnt how to combine multiple lines of code into one using the repeat by a certain number of times code. This allowed them to create hexagons. And by decreasing or increasing the amount of steps, it allowed them to increase or decrease the size of them, so they made lots of hexagons within hexagons.
