Willow Tree Class Blog - 15.05.26

With only one week to go until the May half term holidays, we are really starting to progress through the year 3 curriculum now.
In maths we have completed a unit on money and have moved onto telling the time on an analogue clock. It is great to see so much retained knowledge from Year 2 in this area and we have been able to hit the ground running with telling the time to 5 minutes. As I am sure you can imagine, telling the time on an analogue clock can be more and more difficult to teach as children are more and more used to digital times on phones, tablets and computers etc. I have tasked the children in Willow Tree Class with finding an analogue clock at home to practice with. If you have any different styles of analogue clock that we could study, please send a picture to willow@ruffordparkrpimary.org.uk.
In English we have started a new writing topic. We have a story about an ultramarathon runner who got lost in the Sahara Desert in 1994. We have stopped the story at the crisis point (where he is lost) and will be asking the children to write the ending to the story.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Best Wishes
Mr Spence
