Weekly Update 10.5.24

A slightly shorter week has come to an end but we have made use of every minute.
We read our new class text 'Lila and the Secret of Rain'. The children predicted what would happen in the story, wrote sentences using key vocabulary and also sequenced the story. The quality of writing this week has been incredibly high and all children have shown good progress.
In maths we have been using the bar model to solve addition and subtraction calculations. We first used cubes to represent the calculations before recording our work in maths books.
In geography we continued to learn about Africa. The children used the atlases to locate different countries in Africa.
