19.04.20 - Home Learning Week 3 (Summer Week 1)

Hello my lovely Oak Tree class,

I hope you and your families have tried to make the most of your Easter holidays despite the unusual circumstances. Thankfully, the weather has been beautiful and hopefully meant you’ve been able to get lots of fresh air. I have been doing a lovely walk each day with Libby and have used this time to do even more reading and catch some sun!

From tomorrow, Summer term begins and so it is important that you try to get back into a school routine as much as possible and continue with your home-learning. This will massively help you build on the progress you have already made and prepare you for Year 6. There are 2 documents, both highlighted in bold within this text, for you to follow. Click here for the ‘Home Learning Pack. Year 5. Guidance and Answers’, which is the answer booklet for the home-learning you have already completed. Use this to mark your work and correct any errors you have made – remember it is a crucial skill to be able to reflect and improve.

The second document is a weekly timetable of lessons and activities for you to follow, starting tomorrow. Click here to access your timetable for W/C 20.04.20. Please follow this daily as each week we will release a new timetable and so you will need to stay on track and keep up! Some of the activities are linked to online learning and others should be completed on paper. You will be revisiting some learning objectives so hopefully you won’t find them too difficult but don’t worry if you do find some tasks tricky, there will be many opportunities in the future to help you understand them. Please stick to this every day, not forgetting your 9am P.E lesson with Joe Wicks. You can find the link to this on my first class message.

You are doing a super job and I know you will work your very hardest and best at home. Remember you can be doing extra challenges on Mathletics and Purple Mash. I will be logging in next week to see if you’ve managed to complete some.

Keep safe and best wishes,

Miss Johansson
