Ash Tree Home Learning - 2.4.20

 Hi Ash Tree Class!

I hope you are all well and are more used to your new “school day”. I am missing seeing you all each day! Hopefully you have managed to create a routine that works for you.

As I mentioned last week, completing a page of English and a page of maths in your home learning pack each day is a good way to keep learning. You also have a separate practical ideas booklet so if you haven’t already, try to complete something fun from in here! If you have managed to do this you should be nearing the end of your pack now. I will be setting you some more learning tasks to complete from Monday 20th April.

Make sure you take a break over the next two weeks as it is your Easter holidays. Use this time to play outside if you have garden or do some fun creative tasks. Perhaps you could make an Easter card for a friend or member of your family you haven’t seen recently? I’m sure they would love to receive it once this is over!

If you are struggling to think of ideas to keep you busy, the small number of children in school each day have been creating project books about a subject of their choice that they really want to learn more about.

Here are some subject ideas if you do want to complete one at home:

  • An animal
  • A country
  • A famous person (an author, an inventor, an explorer, a scientist, etc.)
  • A sport
  • A historical time period
  • A geographical feature (rivers, mountains, volcanoes, etc.)

If you do create a project book, make sure you hang on to it to show me once we are back at school!

Bye for now and stay safe (and indoors!)

Miss Bairstow

Keeping Safe
It is really important you all continue to keep yourselves safe.  As well as following the government guidelines, you need to remember all the things we teach you in school about keeping safe.  You can find information about keeping safe under the 'children' tab on our website.  In school we regularly talk to you about what you should do if you feel worried or upset.  It is important you talk to a trusted adult; remember you need to speak up and stay safe.  Miss Tidey, Mr Cooke and Mrs Moss (our Designated Safeguarding Leads) are still available and can be contacted at school.  If you are unable to talk to a trusted adult at school or at home about a worry you have, then you can speak to someone at ChildLine.  Please click on the following link and spend a few minutes reminding yourself of who you can talk to: https://www.ruffordparkprimary.org.uk/children/keeping-safe.  On this page you will also find information on how you can get help if you are worried about anything you see online.

As you are currently learning from home and could well be spending more time online, it is important you also keep yourself safe on the internet.  Please read (or ask an adult to read to you) our E-Safety Rules; you need to remember and follow these when using the internet at home.   Click on this link to view our E-Safety Rules: https://www.ruffordparkprimary.org.uk/children/internet-safety-information-for-children

We have also provided parents with information about how to keep children safe online.  Please click on the following link for advice on how to support your child to use the internet safely, responsibly and positively: https://www.ruffordparkprimary.org.uk/children/internet-safety-information-for-parents.  On this page there are also links to other websites and resources.
