Ash Tree Home Learning - 11.5.20

Hi Ash Tree Class,

I hope you are all well and have been continuing to work hard (whilst having some fun as well!). Hopefully it won't be too much longer before we are back in school but for now, it has been lovely to see what you have been up to on the blog.

Year 6, we have had some exciting updates about your school leavers' hoodies this week. The Friends of Rufford Park have very kindly offered to pay the full cost of the hoodies this year as it has been such a strange end to your time at primary school. You can find a letter with more information about this, including how to order them, on the Ash Tree Class homepage, under the "Class Highlights" section.

If you had a go at least week's basic skills tests, you can find the answers here:

Basic Skills 1 Summer 1 Wk 3 - Answers

Basic Skills 2 Summer 1 Wk 3 - Answers

Basic Skills 3 Summer 1 Wk 3 - Answers

Why don't you keep track of your answers and try to improve your score each week. If there is a particular skill you are struggling with e.g. money problems, time problems, multiplication you could practise this in your daily maths warm up.

Here is your timetable for this week (Summer 1 Week 4):

Like last week, you will need to download your White Rose maths worksheets and answers below as they are no longer available on the website. However, you can still view the videos on the White Rose website using the link in the timetable.

Y5 White Rose Worksheets - Summer 1 Wk 4

Y5 White Rose Answers - Summer 1 Wk 4

Y6 White Rose Worksheets - Summer 1 Wk 4

Y6 White Rose Answers - Summer 1 Wk 4

There are three more basic skills tests for you to have a go at this week too. Remember, you don't need to print these - just write down your answers on a piece of paper until the answers are revealed next week. 1 is the easiest and 3 is the hardest so choose your challenge level wisely!

You will have noticed your English lessons were slightly different last week. We are going to use these resources again this week as we think the videos will be really helpful. This week you are moving on to writing a character description, which we have done before in school, so make sure you pack it full of super descriptive vocabulary. Use an online dictionary or thesaurus to help you with this.

Finally, we have included a range of topic and science resources we hope you will be able to have a go at from home. There are some lovely audio stories of Greek myths and some really interesting work on Space linked to the Moon in there. Did any of you see the Flower Moon last night? It was the last Supermoon of 2020!

You can find the phases of the Moon work here:

Be safe, be happy, be good!
