Pear Tree Home Learning - 2.4.20
Home Learning Week 2
Hello Pear Tree Class children. I am missing you all so much! I hope that you are all well and listening to your adults. I know that you will be, because you are all so good at listening in class.
I hope that you have been managing to do a bit of work every day, some with your grown-ups and some work by yourselves. Lots of you are very good at working independently.
The next two weeks would be the Easter holidays and even though we are mainly at home indoors, you can still have a little break from school work. I have made a poster of some Easter craft ideas that you can do. Have a look at it and see what you think you could make. I will add a link to our Big Cat Collins ebooks, so that you can access your reading books online! I will put the details below for your grown-ups. Please keep reading at home - remember all the reasons why we need to read and see if you can tell your adults why we need to learn to read!
Please keep yourselves safe and if you feel worried or upset, talk to a trusted adult at home. You can also see extra information on our website about keeping safe here. Our E-safety rules are here.
Keep working hard and being your usual super selves, at home!
Take care and stay well.
Mrs Connolly
Hello Parents,
I hope that you are all well. I understand that many of you will be working from home and balancing the children's work also. Please don't worry if you miss a session or a day of school work, although if you can keep to the timetable we sent home in your packs, it really will help.
Here is the information about the Big Cat Collins reading scheme books. These are the books we send home every week and they are really lovely. The online ones have some lovely sounds too!
Google Big Cat Collins ebooks or click
here.
Click on Collins Connect (in blue) and sign in as a Teacher with the details below:

Select Big Cat ebooks and then select the book band colour your child is on. The books are read to the children, so you will need to turn the sound down on their device for the children to read independently. After they have read it, you could turn the sound on and allow the children to hear it read to them. Remember to keep re-reading books for fluency, this is part of the Year 1 curriculum. You will need to click on the little pictures underneath the book to turn the pages.
Below is a picture of some Easter crafts that your child should be able to make quite independently once you have discussed how they might do it. You can also watch this link here for some more ideas.
Please also read our important Keeping Safe message from Miss Tidey at the top of this webpage.
Thank you for working with the children at home and if you need to get in touch please contact the office email and they will pass on any messages to me.
I hope you all have a lovely Easter.

Keeping Safe - A message from Miss Tidey
It is really important you all continue to keep yourselves safe. As well as following the government guidelines, you need to remember all the things we teach you in school about keeping safe. You can find information about keeping safe under the 'children' tab on our website. In school we regularly talk to you about what you should do if you feel worried or upset. It is important you talk to a trusted adult; remember you need to speak up and stay safe. Miss Tidey, Mr Cooke and Mrs Moss (our Designated Safeguarding Leads) are still available and can be contacted at school. If you are unable to talk to a trusted adult at school or at home about a worry you have, then you can speak to someone at ChildLine. Please click on the following link and spend a few minutes reminding yourself of who you can talk to: https://www.ruffordparkprimary.org.uk/children/keeping-safe. On this page you will also find information on how you can get help if you are worried about anything you see online.
