The children have been busy this week, as usual!
We have continued our poetry unit this week. The children have been writing Ocean Inspired Shape Poems again. I have been very impressed with their creativity when putting their poems into a shape. We have also listened to the story of the 'Snail and the Whale' to give us some ideas.
In maths we have been solving more 'Open Ended' Puzzles. Once again, the children have shown great determination and resilience trying to find the solutions.
In our topic work we have been learning about Captain James Cooke. We talked about the places he explored and what he brought back, including plants. This linked nicely with our trip to 'Harlow Carr Gardens' on Wednesday.
The children all had an amazing time on the trip. We spent the day exploring the gardens and had a workshop specifically exploring the trees, plants and wildlife in their Woodland Area. The lady delivering the workshop was very impressed with their Science knowledge of all things to do with plants, as was I.
Hopefully the children have nearly finished their Garden Homework Projects. Some children have already brought theirs in and they look amazing! We will be displaying them next Wednesday after school. We hope that you can come along and look at the children's creations.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
